Different Die Casting Metals

Each Die Casting Material Will Have Various Models Attributed To Its Distinct Material Properties. As A Result, It Is Essential To Differentiate The Die Casting Processes Accordingly To Accommodate These Variations.

1.

Alluminum Alloys

  • A380: which is one of the most commonly specified aluminum alloys;
  • 383(ADC12): it offers improved corrosion resistance, is lightweight, and its advantages encompass ease of casting, strong mechanical properties, and dimensional stability;
  • B390: it is an aluminum alloy with high hardness and good wear resistance;
  • A413: it is an aluminum alloy with excellent pressure tightness;
  • 413: it offers a good combination of casting, mechanical, and thermal properties;
  • K-Alloy: excellent corrosion resistance;
  • A360: it is an aluminum alloy with excellent pressure tightness and fluidity.
2.

Zinc Alloys

  • Zamak 2: Zinc Alloy 2, also known as Kirksite or Zamak 2 (ASTM AC43A), is the highest strength and hardness of the Zamak family;
  • Zamak 3: Stands as the most commonly utilized zinc alloy in US, often being the preferred option for die casting due to a variety of reasons;

  • Zamak 5: is the most widely used zinc alloy in Europe;
  • Zamak 7: is a modification of Zamak 3.
3.

Magnesium Alloys

  • AZ91D: is the most widely used magnesium die cast alloy and has an excellent combination of mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and castability.
